On September 24, 1934, she married Franklin D. Monson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and they spent 62 happy years together until his death in 1996. She received her LPN degree in 1959 at 52 years of age and worked at the hospital and the nursing home in Blackfoot, ID giving loving care to the patients for many years. \nEvelyn loved and took great pride in her children and grandchildren and was always willing to help them in any way she could. She and her brothers and sisters stayed very close to each other throughout their lives and she enjoyed visiting and traveling with them. \nA lifelong member of the LDS Church, she served in many capacities both as a leader and a teacher, and was a Visiting Teacher for over 50 years. She and Frank enjoyed their calling at the Jordan River Temple and the friends they met there. She loved reading the scriptures and good books, and she crocheted beautiful afghans for her children and grandchildren. She always had a great love for people and had a special gift of compassion for others, especially those who were ill or in need. She had a strong testimony of the Savior and His teachings and has been an example of unconditional love for all of us. She is truly a beautiful and elect lady.
