Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister & friend, Evelyn Dame Reed, returned to the welcoming arms of her loving Heavenly Father; husband, Jack Reed; and many other anxiously awaiting family members on a cold January night, the 20th of January, 2008.\n\nEvelyn was born September 28, 1925 in Meadow, Utah to Joseph Ezra & Charlotte Bushnell Dame. She was raised there with her 3 brothers and 3 sisters and was the second to youngest child. She moved to Salt Lake City after graduation from Fillmore high school. While living in Salt Lake City she was introduced to her eternal companion, Jack Monrad Reed. They were soon sealed together in the Salt Lake City Temple. Just before their third child they purchased a beautiful new home in Murray, Utah where they lived for over 40 years. There they raised five children; one daughter and four sons. Evelyn was an active member of the LDS Church where she valiantly fulfilled many callings serving those around her. Her testimony of the Savior shone in all aspects of her life and she was constantly studying her scriptures.\n\nEvelyn had the wonderful opportunity to live in the Washington DC area and served with her husband in the Washington, DC temple. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved to be of service to her posterity and those around her.\n\nEvelyn has left a strong legacy and will be missed by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her children, Jacquelyn (Paul) Dazley, David (Karen) Reed, Ronald (Marie) Reed, Richard (Sherilyn) Reed, and Andy (Douglas) Reed. She is also survived by her sister, Mae Jones; and her sister-in-laws, Helen Ritchie and Ruth Dame; brother-in-laws, Lamont Jensen and Paul Pedersen; 28 Grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.\n\nFuneral services will be held at the LDS Hillcrest Ward chapel, 495 E 5600 S, Murray, Utah 84107 on Saturday, January 26, 2008, at 12pm (Noon), where friends and family can visit from 10am – 11:30am.
