Francis J. Olander, Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on June 7, 2012 at the age of 67.\n\nFran was born in Saint Louis, Minnesota; his parents were Francis and Gertrude Olander. After graduating college with a Masters in English and Psychology he took a job with Travelers Insurance who he worked for 25 years; that led him to Salt Lake City, UT where he married Sharlene Low on August 28, 1973 and was later sealed in the Jordan River Temple in 1999. They had one son Matthew F. Olander.\n\nSharlene passed away May 2000. Fran met a new companion to continue his journey and was married to Mary Lee Martin on October 27, 2007.\n\nWe have great memories of times at Lake Powell, afternoons fishing and road trips to travel the country in the RV. When he had a spare moment he could always be found reading a book and watching TV at the same time or puttering around in the garage. He loved his family and had a wonderful giving heart. He found joy in the simple parts of life. He always worked hard to see that his family’s needs were met at home and his client’s needs were met at work. Some of his greatest joys were traveling the world with Sharlene, spending time with his children, grandkids and spending the golden years relaxing in St. George with Mary Lee.\n\nHe is survived by his wife Mary Lee Martin-Olander, his son Matthew Olander (Kara), Step-Children Jeff, Justin (Dolores), Cindy and Kim Martin, and by his six grandkids. And also numerous loving family members.\n\nFuneral services will be held Friday June 15, 2012, 12:00 noon at River Ridge 4th Ward, 1244 W. Chavez Dr. (9700 S), South Jordan.
