Ida Marie Salzetti Ewell passed away at her son's home in Riverton, Utah on October 18, 2012.\n\nShe was born August 8, 1913 to Serafino and Genoveffa Ciccone Salzetti in Sopris, Colorado. She lived in Sunnyside until her adult years. While growing up, she enjoyed playing baseball and tennis with her brothers. She was introduced to the LDS Church by her future husband, Walter Leon Ewell Sr. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple June 1, 1936.\n\nShe loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. She and her husband served 6 missions together for the LDS Church. She was also active in many civic affairs. She was determined in her ideas and could at times be considered feisty. She could do almost anything.\n\nShe was talented in crocheting, painting, singing, playing the organ in church, and teaching herself to play several musical instruments. She was an excellent cook and noted for her Italian dishes.\n\nShe is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters (Sestina and Marge) and brothers (Armando, Fred, Albert and Guido).\nShe is survived by her children Leon (Carol) of Herriman; Forest (Kathy) of Riverton; Gerald (Char) of San Diego CA; VaLene Collings (Kevin) of West Valley City; 27 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Edward (Paula) of Salt Lake City; and Raymond of East Carbon, Utah.\n\nFuneral services will be held on Saturday, Oct 27, 2012 at Riverton 5th Ward; 1855 W 13400 S, Riverton, Utah at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to the service between 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment, Bluffdale City Cemetery.
