Irene, 86, on November 24, 2012 returned to her Heavenly Father’s care. She was born July 4, 1926 in Marion, Utah to Benjamin Willoughby and Vivian Adela Russell. Married Richard (Dick) Jorgensen on June 9, 1944 and sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. \n\nIrene’s life was spent taking care of her family. Whether huddled in blankets watching a grandchild’s sports event or packed in an audience listening to their recital, Dick & Irene were always there. She was Dick’s sweetheart and loved him dearly. They were always holding hands. They truly were “the nicest couple” you could ever meet! Irene was devoted to the genealogy of her family. She lived the gospel of Jesus Christ. Irene retired as the Executive Vice President from the Utah Consumer Finance Association & Utah Retail Merchants Association.\n\nSurvived by her husband, Richard; children, Grant (Rosemary), Glenn (Sherrie), Kent (Allison), Keith (DeAnne); 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her daughter, Susan; parents, Benjamin and Vivian; siblings, Nida, Norman, and Howard; and grandson, Nathan.\n\nFuneral services will be held on Thursday, November 29th at 12:00 Noon at the Kenwood 1st Ward, 3080 S. Kenwood St. (1765 E.). Viewings will also be held at the church Wednesday, November 28th from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
