Our loving and kind father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and son passed away on Sept. 9, 2013 at age 72. He was born on Sept. 10, 1940 to James S. and Mary L. Robb in Cedar City, Utah. He was the oldest of 3 children.\n\nBarry graduated from the U of U School of Medicine in 1966 and practiced medicine in Salt Lake City at St. Mark's Hospital for the greater part of his career. He also served as a surgeon for the U.S. Army from 1968-1970 in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia during the Vietnam War. He took his Hippocratic Oath to serve and heal people very seriously, helping thousands of people over the years.\n\nAlthough Barry was a brilliant and accomplished surgeon, he took the most joy from spending time with loved ones – his family, his friends. Nothing lit up his eyes more nor gave him more reason to smile than being with his grandchildren. He adored them and they adored him every bit as much.\n\nHe loved to travel with his wife Jana and his children and grandchildren. He created many fond memories with the annual trips he took with family. He was a lover of history books and shows, most particularly U.S. war history and espionage books. He was talented in so many ways, but especially excelled at golf, tennis, target shooting and art. He loved to fly and had his glider pilot's license. His sense of humor was both keen and silly, and he loved to tease, always keeping a straight face. He could often get you to believe even the most ridiculous things, like telling the grandchildren that "the red color in red velvet cake came from smashed up red beetles." He was a man of integrity, reason and values, and he was also very thoughtful, generous and kind. Our loss is heaven's gain. We will miss him greatly, but look forward to seeing him again.\n\nBarry is survived by his wife Jana, his children Debbie (Michelle), Kristin (Bart), Matt (Andrea), Stephanie (Kevin), and Mark (LaCie); his grandchildren Candice, Zachary, Aleck, Dawson, Connor, Kayleigh, Keegan, Aubrey, Cole, Evrett, Emily, Ashton, Rhiannon and Max; his first wife, Sylvia Boger Robb, his brother Robert (Susan), his sister Judy (Jerry) and his mother Mary L. Robb. His father James S. Robb preceded him in death. We are certain he is happily spending time with his father in heaven.\n\nA celebration of Barry's life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 in Paragonah, Utah. This will be a private family service.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barry Robb's name to: Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
