Our sweet Mom, Grandma, Great-grandma and friend passed away December 29, 2018 in South Jordan Utah, at the age of 89.\r\nJanice was born in Paradise Utah on March 9, 1929 to Floyd Orgill Rawlins and Thelma Susan Briggs Rawlins. She was raised with two brothers, Frank & Larry, whom she loved very much.\r\nShe married Dale Vernace Benson on Nov 9, 1948, in the Logan Temple. They were blessed with 5 children, 4 sons and 1 daughter. They made their home in Newton where she lived for most of 60 years.\r\nJanice was a very hard worker and loved serving others. Many people were recipients of her beautiful quilts. She loved being outdoors and took great pride in her yard and flower beds. She was an Ordinance Worker in the Logan Temple for 22 years. She provided many wonderful memories for her children and grandchildren. Mom was a great example of enduring to the end!\r\nPreceded in death by her sweetheart Dale; brothers Frank Rawlins & Larry Rawlins; son Shane Benson; grandsons Kyle Benson and Corey Benson; great granddaughter Addison Seamons. Survived by children Lee (Kathy) Benson; Jeff (Charlene) Benson, all of Newton; Sally (Clayton) Snow of South Jordan; and Ed Benson of Smithfield; 21 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.\r\nThe family would like to express our gratitude to the staff & caregivers at Legacy Retirement and Carrington Court in South Jordan, who gave loving care and kindness during her last few years.\r\nWe find great peace and happiness thinking of the great reunion Mom is now enjoying. We will miss her very much, but know we will see her again.\r\nFuneral Services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 12:00 Noon in the Newton Chapel, 76 So 100 West, Newton Utah. There will be a viewing from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the funeral. Burial in the Newton Cemetery under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
