Together, Jeff and Marilyn raised three beautiful daughters. He loved traveling, photography, fishing, cooking, tinkering, working on his computer, genealogy, and, above all else, spending time with his family.\r\n\r\nJeff graduated in three years from Utah State University with a degree in Forestry and minors in Computer Science, Biology, and Statistics. His love of nature and the outdoors blossomed into an illustrious career with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), starting as a temporary seasonal firefighter at the age of 18. He then moved on to become a Fire Station Manager in Salt Lake City, an Assistant Fire Management Officer, and a District Fire Management Officer for the BLM’s Salt Lake office. He spent a short stint at Utah’s BLM state office, and later his final post was fulfilling his “dream job” as the exclusive-use Air Tactical Group Supervisor, where he worked until his retirement at the age of 54. His job took him all around the country, from\r\nAlaska to the eastern coast, where he fought fires, taught workshops, trained future leaders, and shared his breadth of expertise. Jeff was revered by many of his co-workers, whom refer to him as both a legend and mentor.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and daughters, Kristen (Rodney) Mellor, Rachelle (Austin) Green, and Natalie Kline.
