John Davis Reynolds, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away at the age of 80 on Sunday, August 5, 2018, due to a fall. John was born May 8, 1938, in Circleville, Utah, to John M. Reynolds and Verda Davis Reynolds. The family later moved to American Fork where he graduated from American Fork High School in 1956.\r\n\r\nJohn served 25 years in the United States Army. He trained and served for 8 ½ years as a military policeman and 17 years in the supply field. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military in 1981, he drove a bus for Utah Transit Authority for 20 years. After this retirement he spent time in his yard and with his family. He made friends everywhere he went and loved watching basketball.\r\n\r\nHe married Nancy Box in 1968 and had four children. The family lived in Utah, Germany, and California. This year would have been their 50th wedding anniversary.\r\n\r\nJohn is survived by his wife Nancy, and 3 children-Kimberly Reynolds, Joel Reynolds (Shantell), and Melanie (Ray) Lindenburg. He has 4 grandchildren Wesley, Gavin, Miranda Reynolds, and Sydney Lindenburg. His sisters Shirly Turner, Shaunna Bruun, and brother Boyd Reynolds. His son Jordan Darwin Reynolds, his parents John and Verda Reynolds, sister Ann Leetham, and brother Lynn precede him in death.\r\n\r\nA viewing will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018, at 11:00 am at the West Jordan Heritage Stake Center, 7336 South 3200 West. There will be a short viewing 10:00-10:45 am prior to the service. Internment will take place at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.\r\n\r\nThe family would like to thank the nurses and doctors in the University of Utah neuro critical care unit for taking such good care of him during his time there. Joe, we love you and will miss you. We know you are happy and with people that you love.
