Keith Kelvin Kemp, 96, passed away on October 24 2019, surrounded by loving family members whispering their goodbyes to him while his favorite hymns were being sung.\r\n\r\nHe was born April 29, 1923 to Davis Charles Wesley Morgan Kemp and Lillian Elizabeth Farrington in Salt Lake City, Utah. After graduating from South High School, he joined the Army and served his country from 1943-1946, fighting in Germany, France, Belgium and Czechoslovakia during WWII in the 817 Tank Battalion Division. \r\n\r\nHe married his sweetheart, Marie Claunch, March 15, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah with the marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised their 5 children: David (Valerie), Richard (Julie), Kenneth (Joni), Russell (Tawny) and Marisa (Dan) Whittington in Murray Utah. After his beloved wife passed away in 1982, he married Marie Hibberd Johnson. He was lovingly welcomed into her family of 5: Carolyn (Walter) Hall, Mary Sue (Dale) Fuelling, Thomas (Nancy), Marlene (Larry) Bowers and Mark (Alene). Keith has a combined posterity of more than 160 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. \r\n\r\nHe was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings such as an Explore leader, Bishop and Temple Worker. He loved the outdoors, fishing, backpacking. camping and hunting. He loved spending time with his family and would go to great lengths to participate in as many family activities as he possibly could. He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; 4 siblings: Mark, Ruth, Dewey and Ethel; and stepson, Thomas. \r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Murray Park Ward Chapel located at 495 East 5600 South, Murray, UT. Viewings will be held at the church Friday, November 1, 2019, from 6-8 pm and Saturday prior to services from 11:45-12:45. Interment will follow at Murray City Cemetery.
