“Gone Dancing”\n\nOur beloved daughter and sister, Laura Jane Swensen, left us on May 13th, 2006. She was born on\nNovember 25th, 1964 in Reno, Nevada to LaVar Wayne and Georgia Reese Swensen.\n\nAt Brighton High, she was the dance club president. Her love of ballet began at age seven in Santa Cruz, CA. Many years were spent in the dance studios of William F. Christensen and the University of Utah. She was honored by receiving the Christensen Scholarship to the University and performed with Utah Ballet and Ballet West. Her love of performing and great beauty made her a natural for the stage.\n\nShe loved to plan parties and find just the right gift. She worked in her father’s dental lab and taught ballet classes. Her musical expertise was utilized when writing about bands in underground magazines.\n\nShe loved her cats, Sartre’ and Zorreo, “catching some rays,” Popeye pancakes, and barbeque picnics.\n\nPreceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her parents; sister, Gina Swensen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.\n\nA memorial service to celebrate Laura’s life will be Monday, May 22, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State where friends and family may share memories during a visitation from 12:00-12:45 p.m. Interment will be at Murray City Cemetery.
