Lee B. Stenquist, age 84, passed away in Salt Lake City on November 17, 2007 of natural causes. Lee was born to William Leander and Dorthea Borg Stenquist on January 28, 1923 in Bear River Precinct, Utah. He married Alice J. Wassom on October 25, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple.\n\nHe was an active member of the LDS Church and faithfully served in many positions throughout his life including Branch President in Khartoum, Sudan in 1981-1983. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corp as a weather observer. He received his BS degree from BYU in 1947 and later earned his MBA degree from the University of Utah in 1963. He was employed at Utah State University from 1954 to 1990 where he was Business Manager and advisor to the Dean. His two most favorite jobs were in Karaj, Iran in 1957 to 1959 and in Khartoum, Sudan in 1981 to 1983 as administrator of an agricultural project.\n\nLee is survived by his wife, Alice, his children: Bill (Rochelle), Salt Lake City; Annette (Jeff) Smith, Kanab; Cliff, Eugene, Oregon; Scott (Sarinat), Golden, Colorado; Marilynn (Scott) Hampton, Sandy; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers, Carl M., Roy; Bill, Yuba, CA; Floyd, Layton; Gary, SLC and his sister, Gloria Huish, Twin Falls, ID.\n\nFuneral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Sandy Utah East Stake Center, 9636 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Murray, and also one hour prior to services at the church. Internment Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetery.
