Our beloved father, brother, and friend, Mark R. Winters passed away October 21, 2020 at his home in Bluffdale, UT. He was born July 6, 1961 to parents Alden Q. and Geraldine Winters and was raised in South Jordan, UT attending schools and graduating from Bingham High class of 1979. He worked alongside his father at South Jordan City Public Works and as a Volunteer Fireman. He found a career with Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District as Water Supply Division Manager where he was highly respected and dedicated to his job, retiring after 37 years. Mark was a loving father, a gentle giant, who was never afraid to speak his mind. He was a hard worker, never gave up until the job was done, and done to perfection! All who knew Mark loved him. He was the guy you could always count on. No matter what, he was there. He had such a big heart and was a big hugger! No one was more patriotic than Mark. He loved his country and the American Flag, tearing up whenever the National Anthem was played. Mark definitely had his own opinions and stuck to them. He loved a challenge, never backing down, and would only say, “it is what it is”! He worked hard, played hard, loved hard, and that is how he will be remembered.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his beloved daughter Haylie, her mother Jody, Brothers: Mike (Kaye), Jon (Jolene) Sisters: Susan (Robert) Crandall, Julie (Todd) Hammond, Becky (Jim) Hibbard, Holly (Bruce) Saunders, and many nieces and nephews who adored him. Preceded in death by his parents.\r\n\r\nRespecting Mark’s wishes there will be no service. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Due to Covid restrictions, masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Mark’s behalf to a charity of your choice.
