Markus Hephaestion Obituary (1982 - 2022)

Marcus Ethan Hephaestion (Mark Rounds July 8, 1982 - April 25, 2022 Mark was an amazing and loving husband, doggy da, brother-in-law, uncle, son, brother and friend. He loved music (Green Day) and found a love for vinyl, movies, musicals (Rent), playing games (board and on-line), star trek (old, new and animated), computers, traveling, the color purple, lynx’s and mustang cars. He liked trying new food (I got him to eat and like sushi), the spicier the better. He was incredibly smart and taught himself so many things techwise. He unfortunately battled depression the 14 years we were together, he had good days and bad days but he tried to keep going. Losing Jack (his service animal and best friend) made it very hard to want to keep going and he was doing well as we were working through it together. But losing our nephew (Benny Lozano) compounded his feelings and memories. He sadly wasn’t able to keep fighting the dark and sad parts of life. I will always love you, I will always remember all of the fun we had whether just shopping, playing games, wine tasting and all the fun things we did while traveling. I thank you for everything that you gave me, a house, 5 wonderful dogs and 14 years of love with you! You are my true love and I will miss you until we’re together again. Mark is survived by his husband David Lozano, Father Dave Mark Rounds, Sister Angie Rounds, Uncle Bill (Susan) Rounds, Brother-In-Law’s Ben (Jean) Lozano, and Dan Lozano, and cousins Travis and Eric Rounds. Mark was preceded in death by Mother Judy Rounds, Nephew Benny Lozano, Grandmother & Grandfather Doris (Lonnie) Jones, Grandfather and Grandmother Miles (Lucille) Garrels, Grandfather and Grandmother Bill and Connie Rounds, and Uncle Ken Garrels. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society Of Salt Lake on behalf of Mark and Jack. Those that come to the celebration of life, if you like and have any purple clothing, please wear it. It was his favorite color. It will be held at a private home, so please be respectful of that, located at 12323 South 1460 West Riverton, UT. 84065 from 5pm to 7pm.
