On June 30, 2017 Beth passed away peacefully listening to big band music, in South Jordan, Utah, most likely dancing with her husband, Obie who was waiting for her.\r\n\r\nAn only child, she was born August 28, 1925 in Newton, North Carolina to Marie Daugherty and Coley R. Yoder.\r\n\r\nShe graduated high school and attended Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina to study music as a piano player. She met Gale Clinton Oberndorfer (Obie) a young Army Air Corps cadet and they were married March 11, 1945 - the day he earned his pilot wings - in La Junta, Colorado. The only people at their wedding were each of their moms. They were married for 65 years.\r\n\r\nBeth worked as a secretary in the Pennsbury School District and later worked with Obie in his home inspecting business in Yardley Pennsylvania where they raised their two sons. They moved to Utah in 2009 to be near their grandchildren.\r\n\r\nBeth always had a smile, a kiss and a hug for her family. She never missed an opportunity to send cards for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, and all the holidays in between.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by two sons, Richard E. (Gail), and Reed Y. (Debbie), 4 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Obie, and one grandson.\r\n\r\nA private family memorial service was held at Utah Veterans Memorial Park where Beth was buried with Obie. The family wishes to thank Legacy House of South Jordan and Aspire Home Health and Hospice.
