Nelson Thomas Peck Jr. passed away at his home January 4, 2013.\n\nHe was born August 9, 1932 in Loma Linda, California. He married Lanel Grant Peck in the Los Angeles Temple August 22, 1957. She passed away on March 19, 2002.\n\nA convert to the LDS Church, Tom served in the French Mission. Tom held many callings in the Church throughout his life and was always willing to help and serve others. His passion in life was genealogy work and he spent countless hours doing research for his family and others. He found great joy traveling the globe visiting courthouses, churches, cemeteries and libraries in search of elusive records and family. Many treasured relationships were formed with distant relatives the world over, as a result of his efforts.\n\nHe is survived by his seven children: Drew (Ramona), Dana (Debbie), Doyl (Lisa), Dale (Cindy), Marlayna (Curtis) Hendricks, Morgen (Penny), Maretta (Rob) Wight, twenty-four grandchildren (plus five spouses) and two great-grandchildren.\n\nA viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Jenkins Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 W. So. Jordan Pkwy (10600 South), South Jordan, Utah. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the LDS Chapel, 6410 South 725 East, Murray, Utah, with a viewing from 9:30- 10:30 a.m., followed by services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
