Obituary for Carolyn Carter Bills

1935 ~ 2018

The Boston Red Sox have lost one of their most devoted fans. Our sweet wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, and sister passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018, from a brief illness.
Carolyn Carter Bills was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles Craig (aka Gilbert Riley Jones) and Margaret Gladys Maxfield Carter on January 11, 1935. Carolyn graduated from South High and shortly thereafter met the love of her life, L. Kent Bills. Although they were each on a blind date with another, they did a switch-a-roo and have been madly in love ever since. They were united in marriage on August 5, 1955, and understanding the blessings that come from being an eternal family, were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 19, 1958.
Carolyn worked at KSL for many years and made countless lifelong friendships. After retirement, she and Kent served as ushers in the LDS Conference Center and enjoyed sharing the gospel with people from all over the world.
Carolyn loved to watch football, but her passion was watching baseball. She knew everything about the Boston Red Sox and would hassle anyone wearing Yankees gear.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, L. Kent Bills, and her three children: Greg (Carol) Bills, Texas; Kathy (Russ) Gramse, Draper; and Steve (Lisa) Bills, Murray. She is also survived by the lights of her life, her grandchildren: Spring, April, Brandon, Michael, Stacie, Brittany, Brad, and Jamie along with 15 great grandkids (and one on the way). A brother, Craig (Toni) Carter lives to tell the tale.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Cottonwood 8th Ward (6180 S. Glen Oaks Street) with a viewing Friday evening, July 6th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jenkins Soffe Mortuary (4760 S. State Street) in Murray and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Please share condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
Death is not a failure of medical science, prayers, or priesthood blessings, but a final healing by a loving Heavenly Father.
