Obituary for Harmony Rasmusson Moody

Harmony Rasmusson Moody entered this world on June 9th, 1984 in Syracuse, NY -- the second daughter and sixth child of Parry Alden (Par) and Joan Karen (Jenny) Rasmusson. She grew up in Winsted, CT where the family moved shortly after her birth. When she got her own bedroom, she was often caught dancing as a ballerina or reading and entertaining herself. After attending Hinsdale, Pearson, and Gilbert Schools in Winsted, she obtained her GED shortly after moving to Las Vegas, NV with her family in 2004. She graduated with a four-year degree from the Seminary program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

After moving to Orem, UT, she met her forever best friend and eternal love, Benjamin Poll Moody. They were married and sealed together forever on July 15, 2006 in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. Ben joined the U.S. Army two years later and the couple lived in NY, AL, and HI. Harmony loved Hawaii best and enjoyed living there as Ben served at Schofield Army Barracks. Ben trained for and became an Apache helicopter pilot; his current posting is in Hawaii. Ben and Harmony have four children: Samya Rose (11), Tosh Benjamin (10), Teagan Parker (5) and Treison Renzo (1). Her children were such a bright spot in her life! As a stay-at-home Mom, she taught her kids how to swim, draw, read, and work!

A very crafty lady, Gwen (as she liked to be called) shared her talents in making greeting cards, posters, and other art designs. Her favorite animal was the giraffe. Due to the difficulty of keeping a giraffe as a pet, whenever possible she would always manage to have a dog or two join her family (often along with a cat as well). She loved to sing and was part of the cast of “Annie” and other musicals when she lived in Las Vegas and Logandale, NV. You will never have heard an unkind word from Harmony – she was gentle and kind, always, setting a sweet example for all of us.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Moody and children Samya Rose, Tosh Benjamin, Teagan Parker and Treison Renzo; her parents, Par and Jenny Rasmusson of South Jordan, UT; siblings Shiloh Rasmusson and Brian Le of Northridge, CA, Grove and Andrea Rasmusson of Aiken, SC, York and Luly Rasmusson of Mexico City, Mexico, Nils and Katrina Rasmusson of Saratoga Springs, UT, Saren and Randy Cassotto of Canton, CT and great grandmother, Virginia Cook of Port Hadlock, WA.

She left this mortal world on August 2nd, 2018 at age 34. A memorial service for her will be held, Saturday, August 11th, at the Glenmoor 5th Ward LDS Chapel, 4881 Cindy Lane, South Jordan, UT 84009. Visitation hour will be at 1pm in the Relief Society Room, followed at 2pm by a Memorial Service in the Chapel.
