Obituary for John Joseph Rosko

John Joseph Rosko passed away quietly on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, from cancer at the home of his daughter, Cynthia Anne Prine, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. His loved ones were at his bedside.
He was born on January 15, 1932 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He joined the Navy on July 27, 1951 and served on the minesweeper USS Pursuit ACS 17 in the Korean War. He married Julianne Elizabeth Engstand and resided in Bridgeport, Connecticut and went to work for Skorsky. He moved to Scottsdale, Arizona and worked for McDonnell Douglas as an aerospace engineer prior to moving to Salt Lake City in 2016.
John is survived by his children, Cynthia Anne Prine and David Michael Rosko; grandchildren: Rhea Anne Prine, Scarlet Chalet Prine, Emily Grayson Rosko, Randy Rosko, Mia Choi Rosko, and Matthew Rosko; nephews, William Axel Haslof and Richard Michael Haslof; and niece, Susan Mary Raymond. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julianne Rosko; son, John Gregory Rosko; and sister, Helen Mary Haslof.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 12:00 noon at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. Interment at Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
