"Grams"\nPearl Manett Wardle Oakeson, 89, peacefully passed from this life on Tuesday, 8 September 2009. Born 19 January 1920 to Clarence Leroy Wardle and Mary Alvira Smith Wardle in Union, Utah. Married Russ Willard Oakeson on 7 May 1940. They settled in Union/Midvale where they raised their family of three children. Marriage solemnized in Salt Lake Temple.\nOne of Pearl's most outstanding attributes was her cheerful outlook and infectious smile. She made a friend of everyone she met. The joys of her life were her grandchildren. She never missed a rodeo, a piano recital or sporting event of her children or grandchildren. She loved to crochet afghans and create ceramic figurines. Pearl was employed by the old Mill in Midvale during World War II, worked with her husband operating the Windmill Inn Café in Murray, did bookkeeping for the Union and Jordan Irrigation Company, worked in the Payroll Department for the Jordan School District (retired in 1987), and served and supported her husband on their Midvale farm. She was active in the Jordan School District PTA. She spent the last 22 years in retirement enjoying her family.\nShe is survived by her three children: Rock (Kory) Oakeson, Dee (Lisa) Oakeson, JoAnn (Steven) Oakeson McIntyre; three grandchildren: Justin, Jodie and Kellie; one great-grandchild: Cole. She was preceded in death by husband and sisters: Donna and Sarah. Services: Saturday, 12 September 2009, 11:00am, with visitation one hour before service, at Jenkins-Soffe, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan. Viewing: Friday, 11 September 2009, 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Jenkins-Soffe. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 South, Sandy.
