SANDY, UT – Rendel Jay Larsen, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, returned to Heavenly Father Tuesday, January 18, 2011.\n\nHe was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Jesse Rendel and Viola Ball Larsen. After high school he served an LDS mission to the Gulf States. He married Shirley Ann Jones, his high school sweetheart, and moved to Logan, Utah. He graduated from Utah State University. He then began his career as a computer engineer at Hewlett Packard for twenty three years. He loved spending time with his family. They were often found outdoors camping, boating, and skiing.\n\nHe is survived by his three daughters and two sons: Lori Larsen, Patricia deBoer, James Larsen, Robert Larsen and Jennifer Webb; eleven grandchildren; brother, Neil Larsen; and sister, Irene Jeannotte.\n\nFuneral Services will be held Friday, January 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Church located at 9119 South 1300 East, Sandy, UT. Viewings will be Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 South) and Friday morning from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment: Sandy City Cemetery.\n\nThe family wishes to thank the wonderful staff who diligently and lovingly cared for Rendel at Millcreek Retirement Center and Hospice 4 Utah.
