Richard “Dick” M. Westover was born on October 12, 1939, to Arthur and Nina Searle Westover. On May 5th, 1989 he married Jill Eyre in the Jordan River Temple.\n\nRichard was an avid outdoor photographer, accomplished skier and golfer. He loved the mountains and gave any excuse to spend time outside. More than anywhere else, you could find him on one of Utah’s many rivers or lakes. He’d fish and eternally cast “just one more time” for the next big one.\n\nHe was a dedicated member of the LDS Church and pursued his many church callings with great vigor and commitment, including a long-time involvement with the Scouts.\n\nHis greatest passion was his family. Richard was an adoring husband and loving father. He was a provider to all who knew him and always available for those in need. His grandchildren brought him great joy, as did everyone in his circle of family and friends. \n\nOf all his characteristics, those who knew him will remember his sense of humor. Simply put, he knew how to make people laugh… and did so up until his last moment.\n\nHe is survived by his wife Jill and children Richard L. Westover, Michelle Condie and her fiancé Scott, Danielle Gobar and her husband Brian, Robyn Long, Monique Marraro and her husband Tony and Ben Eyre. His surviving grandchildren are Jackie, Ashley, Colette, Cody, Xander, Cheyenne, and Gabrielle. His surviving brothers are Arthur, Keith and Gene Westover, and he leaves one sister, Marie. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dee and Ray.\n\nRichard passed away on August 27 due to complications from Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).\n\nFuneral Services will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Meadows 3rd Ward Chapel, 9455 So. 4800 West.
