Ronald George West, 75, beloved husband, father and grandfather left us for a better place on June 22, 2007.\n\nBorn in Pleasant Grove, Utah, June 14, 1932, son of Rulon and Ivie Hadley West. He married his true love, Doris Petersen on February 7, 1953. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, on June 17, 1975.\n\nRon graduated from South High School in 1949. He served in the 191st Air National Guard. He loved driving and customizing his 1936 and 1941 Ford automobiles. He enjoyed early morning fishing trips to Strawberry Reservoir with his three children and Father-in-Law. He loved to play golf, watch WW II and western movies, garden and putter in the yard. He was a friend to his grandchildren and his quiet and gentle manner drew his little grandchildren close to him. They would take him by the finger and lead him off to play.\n\nHe worked at Sears as a driver, dispatcher and salesman and retired in 1992.\n\nRon is survived by his wife, Doris and three children; Mark and Michelle (Kaysville), Steve and Suzy (Cottonwood Heights), and Sherri (Farmington), 11 grandchildren.\n\nHe left us too soon and we will miss him greatly. We want to thank the doctors and nurses at Veterans Hospital for the kind and loving way they cared for us, especially Dr. Haslam.\n\nFriends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Tuesday, June 26 at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. (4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah). Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, at the Cottonwood Heights 4th Ward chapel, 2522 East 6710 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
