“We Love You”\nValerie Jean Powell was born on April 7, 1958 to Harry William Duchene and Leona Genevieve Duchene. Val was active in the Pep Club at Skyline High School and graduated in 1976. Val met Kelly Keenan Powell and they were married in 1982 in Salt Lake City, UT. They were married for 16 years and raised two beautiful daughters, Ashlee Marie Davies and Lauren Lee Powell.\nVal treasured the time she was able to spend with her daughters and always gave her best efforts to provide for them. She loved to visit her sister and family in New Mexico every year during the summer. Although Val suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis, she never took one moment of life for granted. It wasn’t unusual to awake to the sound of a crinkling wrapper in the middle of the night and find Val treating herself to a midnight snack.\nShe dedicated nearly eight years to changing people’s lives with Alcoholics Anonymous. It was very apparent that Val always tried her best in all that she did. She cherished the last six years of her life being pampered by her sweetheart, Paul Jackman. She is admired by her friends and family and gave us all many lessons in life.\nVal left this temporary life on June 11, 2008 while doing what she loved most by spending priceless time with her daughter. \nVal is survived by her daughters; Ashlee (Justin) Davies, Lauren Powell, and Roxy; her father, Harry Duchene; brothers and sisters, Les (Wendy) Duchene; Dia Smith, Scott Duchene, Gina (Vince) Gilbert.
