“Pete”Our families’ Patriarch, Virgil Lyman Peterson, has been reunited with his sweetheart. He left us to join her on October 13, 2010. He was born Feb. 16, 1921 and grew into a strong, independent man helping his Mother, Grace Lyman Peterson, raise her family which consisted of himself and sister, Marjorie. He fixed his first car when he was six years old and spent the rest of his life working in the garage. His love of cars was eclipsed only by his love for his family. After serving in the Army Air Force during WWII, he returned home and married his true love, Verna Marie Hedberg, on October 22, 1948. He spent the rest of his life with her, teaching their boys, loving their grandchildren, and spoiling his “Little Sweetie.”Virgil is survived by his two sons, Kenneth V. (Holly) and Keith V.; 18 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 18, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Cottonwood 12th Ward, 6180 South Glenoaks Drive (855 East).
