Born February 23, 1920 in Ogden, Utah. Married Myrtle (Toots) Hyde on Sept. 25, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Two months later came the bombing of Pearl Harbor.\n\nIn July 1943 Wayne enlisted in the US Navy and was assigned to a construction Battalion. He spent most of his time in the New Hebrides Islands located in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1945.\n\nWayne and Toots have three children Larry, Christy, and Robert (Bob). He worked for Williamson’s and Anchor Equipment. He and his wife also owned and operated a roller skating rink, the Crystal-Air-Rollercade, for most of their married life. They put on many shows and entered their children in many competitions. He made many friends over the years.\n\nWayne really enjoyed the last few years of his life sitting out on his deck in Draper watching the deer, feeding the squirrels out of his hand, and monitoring the hang gliders all the way to the ground.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his wife (of 49 years) in 1989. He is survived by his three children Larry (Julie) Keyes; Kriss (Bruce) Gibbons and Bob (Jennifer) Keyes; 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.\n\nFuneral services will be held Monday September 21, 2009, 11:00 am at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 So.) with a viewing from 10:00 – 10:45 am prior to services. Interment 2:30 pm at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 East 2850 No. Ogden, Ut.
