Wilda H. Colton, age 88 of West Jordan, died October 10, 2006 of natural causes.\nWilda was born April 11, 1918 in Bluebell, UT to W. C. Hancock & Clara Ellen Mathews Hancock.\n\nShe married Truman Arzy Mitchell August 9, 1935 in Vernal, UT. After Truman’s death she married Merrill B. Colton in the fall of 1972.\n\nShe excelled in handy work, and often produced a baby blanket for many new additions. She was a renowned canner and was especially famous for her “Dilly Beans”.\n\nShe worked at J.C. Penney’s until Truman’s death. She then trained as a cosmetologist and graduated Valedictorian of her class. She worked as a manager and instructor at Daryl’s College of Beauty in Kearns, UT until she retired.\n\nShe is survived by her children and step-children: Terry Mitchell, Howard (Kathy) Mitchell, Brenda (Bill) Zubeck, Byron (Nancy) Colton, Darwin (Linda) Colton, Boyd (Jackie) Colton, Greg (Ilene) Colton, Marilyn (Bill) Masapust; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren. \n\nShe was preceded in death by her husbands, Truman H. Mitchell and Merrill B. Colton; her sisters, Clara Lloyd, Edith Colton, Bernice Mitchell, Lois Peterson; and brother, DeVere Hancock.\n\nThank you Mom and Grandma for your strength and endurance throughout this life. We are so blessed to have had your beautiful spirit and presence as a constant for so long. We love you.\n\nFuneral Services will be held Friday, October 13, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the West Jordan, 21st Ward, 7525 So. 2700 W. Family and friends may call Thursday, October 12, 2006, at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley , 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) from 6-8 pm and from\n10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
